TZF Speaker Series: How to Talk to Your Child About Loss and Death

Dr. Tara Levinson will be in Hong Kong to speak with parents of children in primary schools on the subject of how to speak with your child about death and loss. Dr. Levinson is a trained child psychologist who worked in Hong Kong for many years. She is now based in the US but will be in Hong Kong for a short time.

Speaking with children about death is often a difficult subject for parents. It’s hard to know how to handle the issue delicately but without raising more issues than you started with. Dr. Levinson will help address some of the big questions parents have, including:

• What should we say?
• How honest should we be?
• Should we be telling the full truth? Will that be too much for our children?
• Do we bring in spirituality or religion and how?

Dr. Tara Levinson has helped many families in Hong Kong and around the world deal with the subject of death with their children.
