The Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) approach to feeding is a programme designed to help children with eating difficulties in a non-threatening and playful way.
Your child’s eating difficulties may include:
- Being a picky eater
- Having difficulty transitioning onto more mature foods
- Avoiding all foods in a specific nutrition group
- Eating a narrow food range
- Generally difficult to feed due to poor mealtime behaviours.
Using the SOS strategy to feeding, the therapist slowly introduces the “just-right” amount of oral and sensory challenges to help expand the child’s food exploration and eating repertoire.
