MINI MUNCHERS (SOS PROGRAMME)

Category:
0 - 18 Months/ 1.5 - 3 Years/ 3 - 6 Years/ 6+ years/ Additional Support/ Behavioural Skills/ Individual Therapies/ Sensory Skills/

The Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) approach to feeding is a programme designed to help children with eating difficulties in a non-threatening and playful way.

Your child’s eating difficulties may include:

  • Being a picky eater
  • Having difficulty transitioning onto more mature foods
  • Avoiding all foods in a specific nutrition group
  • Eating a narrow food range
  • Generally difficult to feed due to poor mealtime behaviours.

Using the SOS strategy to feeding, the therapist slowly introduces the “just-right” amount of oral and sensory challenges to help expand the child’s food exploration and eating repertoire.
