Early intervention in a group setting has the added benefit for your child of learning in a social setting alongside their peers. Using an all-rounded therapeutic approach, the group is designed to facilitate all aspects of a child’s development. Children attend the session with a parent or caregiver, which provides the opportunity to gain support and advice on how to maximise your child’s development. Your child will work with the teacher, speech and occupational therapists on individual goals within the CDC’s curriculum. Your child’s particular areas of need will be addressed across all domains – cognitive, fine and gross motor, language and personal-social.
The group teaches crucial skills for learning and participation in school and social settings. These include:
- Listening and responding
- Following instructions
- An individual teaching and therapeutic programme for each child.
