Our consultation service enables parents to discuss any concerns they have about their child’s development and to collaboratively determine an action plan, if necessary. Consultations are available with any of the CDC’s specialists depending on the parents’ area of concern, and can be conducted at the Centre with or without the child present.
The topics discussed during consultations are very individualised, but frequently they include concerns about:
- language, cognitive and social-emotional development
- behavioural issues such as compliance, aggression and anger management
- toilet training
- eating and sleeping routines
- stress reactions (for example, due to moving house, a new baby, divorce, or bereavement)
- schooling.
