The 42nd Matilda Bazaar and Sedan Chair Race was successfully held last Sunday, 30th October 2016, at the Peak. There were 26 racing teams competing in the event.

Each year the CDC assists the Sedan Chair Charities Fund (“SCCF”) in their race and bazaar to raise funds for Hong Kong charities, of which both the CDC and Springboard have been grateful beneficiaries for many years. Recently, the SCCF has accepted our new application for funding to help support our assessment and intervention services for children with additional needs. As one of the beneficiaries, we are fortunate to receive as well as to give. On the day of the event, our multi-disciplinary team, including our Chief Executive, Virginia Wilson; Head of Therapy, Julie Giles and Head of Community Engagement, Cordelia Au, sold popcorn and cotton candy at the Matilda International Hospital to raise money for the SCCF. Apart from direct event support, our staff and executive committee members were also very supportive in selling and buying raffle tickets for the SCCF.

It was a fun-filled and meaningful day and we shared our mission and thoughts with many other Hong Kong charities. If you would like to support us, please click here. For more details about the race, please check it out at www.sedanchairace.org.
