We have successfully finished running our first round of Happy Parenting and the course was a huge success! Eight caregivers came into the centre after work hours for 8 weeks to learn fundamental parenting skills. Developed by Heep Hong Society, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and The University of Hong Kong, Happy Parenting is a step-by-step programme comprised of group discussion, role play and home practice, all designed to equip caregivers with a set of 20 parenting techniques. After attending this course, our parents have come to the realisation that the journey to happy, healthy parenting is achievable through fostering a loving relationship with their children and by setting a solid foundation as a family unit.
A parent Brian commented, “this course is very helpful and a lot of the skills are applicable to daily use”.
We hope to run this course again in the near future so please look out for more information!
