Promoting Social Emotional Competence and Preventing Challenging Behavior: Practical Strategies for Classroom and Home Use
CAISE are pleased to invite you to the captioned seminar on 17 Sep 2016 (Sat) 9:45-11:30am at Rayson Huang Theatre, HKU. It will be conducted by Professor Michaelene M. Ostrosky from the Department of Special Education at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC).
All young children engage in behaviors that can be problematic at one time or another. Teachers and parents report that managing children’s behavior is one of the hardest things they do. Facilitating children’s social emotional development can result in the prevention of challenging behaviors. Implementing strategies in the context of naturally occurring routines and environments can make life easier for children and adults alike. In this seminar I will share research-based strategies that have proven effective in supporting young children’s social emotional competence and preventing challenging behavior.
The keynote speaker will speak in English and simultaneous interpretation from English to Cantonese will be available during the keynote speech
