HKD200Check out F.O.C.U.S Roundtable Meeting – “I’m Stuck! Helping reluctant learners navigate emotional barriers“.
Often students know more, and can achieve more than they realize, but their frustrations about learning result in procrastination, poor time management, and a lack of emotional control (dealing with frustrations).
In this discussion, Rick Smith, M.Ed. and PhD Candidate (ABD) will cover some of the ways to help students cope with their stress and frustrations and thereby increase their ability to initiate a task and stay engaged, even when they are experiencing difficulties.
Discussion Points:
- Dealing with Procrastination and Boredom
- Managing Time (this will include three strategies for parents to use)
- Getting ‘unstuck’ without a meltdown
This talk is suitable for parents and teachers of children and teenagers, ages 12-19.
