- SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
After completing her studies in communication disorders in the US, Vanessa decided to become a Behaviour Therapist in Hong Kong. She has worked in both one-on-one and group settings with children with additional needs. Taking up her role at the CDC, she strives to help children make progress in learning and improve all aspects of their lives, as well as putting a smile on their faces.
Vanessa is particularly moved by a memory from her earlier days of providing ABA (Applied Behavioural Analysis) therapy – “On the first day I met this young boy, his mother was crying as she was worried about her child’s future. The boy could not understand instructions nor express himself, but after 20 days of therapy, he could sit through the whole session and understand some instructions. He was also able to express himself in simple words. I believe this is the magic of ABA!”
